FVille Ponders Fire Budget Now that police consolidation has been completed in the Town of Manlius, a major topic of dis cussion for the Fayetteville Vil lage Board has become the Fayetteville Fire Department. The fife department budget will be the only item discussed by the village board at its Satur day, March 23 budget meeting. Discussion will center around the reports recently received from three fire consultants who studied the Fayetteville Fire District from the perspective of equipment, facilities and pro blem identification. Kirkville, Manlius and Minoa, with which the town contracts for fire protection for its town residents. Town councilman John Curtis, chairman of the town committee, is expected to represent the town at the village budget meeting. A few village trustees are con cerned that the town residents are not paying their fair share of fire protection costs to the Fayetteville fire district through town taxes. According to the report sub mitted to the village by Jack L. Cottett, one of the consultants cerning, capital teville Fire Department.. A capital expenditure to be considered by the village board is construction of additional space for storage of fire equip ment. The three consultants agree that the existing location in the center of the village on Genesee St. is the best location for a fire station, given the fact there is apparently no other adequate property along Genesee St. that could be u^ed. Mayor James l.annon stressed there will be no final decisions made at the budget meeting con 1985. Regal 6uslom ^odpe -StQefcjslp. 2467-; : X '.
