A tentative plan for the 100th anniversary convention of the Firem e n 's Association of the State of New York from August 15 to August 20 has been set. A m em orial service honoring all those who passed away during the past year will be conducted by M sgr. Ro­ bert J. McCarthy, Gouvemeur, chaplain of the association. Youth Group Sings H e re On Friday evening, April 7, at 7:30 p.m., the frDo-Lord*s,\ a youth choir from the Conklin Avenue First Baptist Church of Binghamton, will be giving a s a ­ cred musical program at the Lowville' Baptist Church. The ‘TJo-LordV* s tarted trav­ eling about 3 1/2 years ago with eight membpfs. Since then they have covered about 1,500 m iles in New York and Pennsylvania. Thetr stops have Included nur­ sing homes, mental hospitals, youth homes, jails, retirem ent homes, churches of various de­ nominations, association m eet­ ings and local TV. There are 70 youths on their choir roll^Junior and Senior high students, 'aged from II and up. Various perform ances Include the use ot piano, electric and folk guitars, drum s, etc. Exceed Expenditure* State Com p troller Arthur Le­ vitt has announced that total ex­ penditures of the 57 New' York State counties outside New York City for 1970 exceeded $2.2 b il­ lion, double that of 1965. In­ creased spending was ac­ companied by higher revenues and borrowing in 1970. The g reatest percentage revenue Jnc reasp during the five-year span was in sales taxes, while rose from $27 mill ton to $264 million.
